A lot to prove for Karthik and Pietersen in IPL 7

Dinesh Karthik is the second most expensive player of IPL after being bought at a price of Rs. 12.5 crore by Delhi Daredevils in this year’s auction held in February. Sixer King Yuvraj Singh is the most expensive purchase in the IPL history as RCB purchased him for Rs. 14 crore in the same auction. Before this year’s auction KKR’s Gautam Gambhir was the most expensive bought of Rs. 11 crore. The wicket keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik failed to impress with his skills during his participation in Asia Cup for the Indian national cricket team. Karthik said, “Pressure will definitely be on me. When a corporate invests on you then it expects a lot from you but here money is not the only issue. Being a professional player you are expected to give your best for the team whether you get big money or less”.

Mitchell Johnson gets fit for IPL 7

Australian pacer Mitchell Johnson who missed out the ICC World T20 held in Bangladesh from 16 March to 6 April due to an injury could be seen back in the seventh edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). According to sources, Johnson is fit and could play in every IPL match for his new side Kings XI Punjab. Johnson could not become a part of the Australian squad because of infection in leg but he is now recovering from that and is fit for the first phase of IPL matches to be held in UAE from April 16 to 30. Cricket Australia (CA) has given confirmation about Johnson’s injury recovery. Johnson did well for Mumbai Indians last season and he was purchased by Kings XI Punjab for Rs. 6.5 crore in the auction held in February this year. There was suspense whether the left-handed fast bowler will be able to feature in IPL 7 or not but his return to the team is a huge bonus for KXIP. Johnson will be leading KXIP’s bowling attack in the IPL 2014.

Full IPL 7 Schedule announced, 40 matches in India

Organisers have announced the schedule of remaining IPL 7 matches. A total of 40 IPL matches including 36 league matches and four playoffs. The four playoff matches includes 2 Qualifiers, 1 Eliminator and the Final of the Indian Premier League. Due to the clash of IPL dates with the Lok Sabha elections in the country, the organisers decided to play first phase of IPL 7 in UAE in which 20 league matches will be played at three different locations viz. Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Dubai from April 16 to 30, 2014.

IPL 7 Ticket sale starts from April 3 online

Ticket sale of IPL 7 matches will begin from 3rd April both online and offline. Because of election season in the country, the first phase of 20 IPL matches will be played in UAE from 16 April to 30 April 2014.
