For the first time in IPL history, the tournament will be played between 2 legendary teams made up of players from all 8 teams before the start of the tournament.
This IPL All Star Match has been announced at the BCCI meeting on Monday 27 January. The match will be played 3 days before the start of IPL 2020 i.e. on 26 March.

According to the report published in ESPN Cricinfo, these 2 teams will be formed according to the East and North part of India and West and South part. That is, the first team will consist of players of Kings XI Punjab, Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders.
The other team will include players from Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Chennai Superkings and Sunrisers Hyderabad. This means that MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will be seen playing for the same team.
On the other side, there can be legends like Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Andre Russell and Ben Stokes. However, this match will include only the players who are going to play in the IPL 2020.
In such a situation, shrewd batsmen like Yuvraj Singh and Yusuf Pathan will not be seen in this match. Information of both potential teams for this match is given further.
